Promoting good design to businesses
Info
Graphic design is everywhere. Crammed into our home and business lives, all over our cities, and dotted around the countryside. Its images, letters, colours and shapes are consciously put together to perform all sorts of functions.
Arguably the most obvious and prominent manifestation of graphic design is corporate identity encapsulated by a company logo, but actually it is so much more. Look further and you see the importance of design where you least expect it; today’s ‘standard’ UK road signs that employ a typeface developed in the 1950s specifically to engage the driver were the result of a design process; the classic London Underground map designed to make navigation a visual experience was the result of a
design process.
Bring it to a local level and we see the company that believed it simply needed a new look until it engaged in the design process; it emerged with a new identity and with a renewed forward-order book hasn’t looked back since.
